The Last Flame of Valdoria - PART 4 — THE FINAL FLAME

PART 4 — THE FINAL FLAME

All of Valdoria trembled.

The blue light of Eldrath erupted violently, like a newborn sun rising amidst the sea of flames.

Ancient runes spiraled around Kael like a storm. The earth cracked beneath his feet as enormous waves of energy tore stone and ash into the air.

The night sky changed color.

One half burned crimson with Zarveth’s fire.

The other glowed deep blue with the power of Eldrath.

Kael slowly raised his head.

His eyes were no longer human.

They shone like two cold blue stars in the depths of hell.

Lines of glowing cracks spread across his body, as though the power within him was destroying its wielder from the inside out.

But Kael felt no pain.

He felt only—

Emptiness.

As if his soul were slowly being devoured by the sword.

Zarveth stepped backward.

For the first time in thousands of years…

The monster felt fear.

“You are insane…” it roared.

Red flames spilled between its enormous fangs.

“If you fully release Eldrath…”

“You will vanish from this world.”

Kael tightened his grip on the sword.

“As long as you die with me…”

He took one step forward.

“That is enough.”

BOOOOOOM!!!

Zarveth roared and lunged forward.

The entire plaza exploded beneath the impact of its colossal claws.

But Kael vanished.

CRASH!!!

A streak of blue light tore across the sky.

Kael appeared above Zarveth and brought his blade down with overwhelming force.

SHHHK!!!

One of the dragon’s wings was ripped apart.

Molten-red blood erupted across the heavens like lava.

Zarveth screamed in agony.

The sound shattered every remaining window in the city.

The dragon twisted violently and unleashed a massive ocean of fire.

But Kael passed straight through the flames like a phantom.

Eldrath screamed with deadly blue radiance.

Every strike carved deep wounds into Zarveth’s once-unbreakable scales.

The surviving citizens stared upward in horror.

This no longer resembled a battle between mortals.

It looked like the collision of two ancient gods.

Fire and light exploded endlessly through the night.

Shockwaves crushed the few structures still standing.

Valdoria was turning to ash beneath this final battle.

Zarveth went mad.

It slammed into the earth, shaking the entire city, then roared:

“I HAVE DESTROYED THIS ENTIRE WORLD!”

“YOU CANNOT STOP ME!”

Crimson fire began gathering within its throat.

This time—

Greater than ever before.

A blazing red sun formed behind its massive jaws.

If this attack were unleashed—

Not only Valdoria—

But even the mountain range beyond the city would vanish.

Kael stared at the growing sphere of fire.

Then he looked down at Eldrath.

The sword’s blue glow had already begun to fade.

He understood.

This was his final chance.

If he failed…

Everything would end.

Kael closed his eyes.

And for one brief moment…

He heard his little sister laughing.

He heard his mother calling his name.

He heard the peaceful days lost long ago.

A single tear slid quietly down his cheek.

Then he opened his eyes.

His final power erupted.

“ELDRATH!!!”

Kael shot into the heavens.

A trail of blue light stretched behind him like a falling star.

Zarveth roared and unleashed its apocalyptic inferno downward.

The two powers collided.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

The sky exploded.

Black clouds were torn apart.

Red and blue light engulfed the entire world.

Kael screamed in agony as his body began breaking apart into fragments of light.

But he kept moving forward.

Through the sea of flames.

Through the roar of the monster.

And then—

THRUST!!!

Eldrath pierced through Zarveth’s chest.

The dragon froze.

Its burning crimson eyes trembled violently.

For the first time…

It felt death.

But then—

Zarveth laughed.

A twisted laugh filled with pain.

“You think you are a hero…?”

Kael faltered.

And at that moment—

Memories that did not belong to him flooded his mind.

He saw the past.

Thousands of years ago…

The kings of Valdoria stood around a massive circle of blood.

Millions of people chained in suffering.

Cries echoed throughout the palace.

Ancient sorcerers used human souls to forge the most powerful weapon in history.

A creature forced into existence through agony and hatred.

That creature…

Was Zarveth.

Kael’s eyes widened.

The dragon had never been born a monster.

Humanity had created it.

Humanity had turned it into a nightmare.

Zarveth looked at Kael with eyes slowly fading into darkness.

“I… never wished to exist…”

Kael tightened his grip on Eldrath.

His gaze trembled.

But it was already too late.

The sword began to crack apart.

Its final power spiraled beyond control.

Zarveth closed its eyes.

“At last…”

The dragon whispered softly.

“I am finally free…”

Kael looked toward the radiant sky.

Then, for the first time in many years—

He smiled.

“Perhaps…”

“Both of us are.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!

A colossal explosion of light swallowed all of Valdoria.

No more screams.

No more fire.

No more war.

Only endless white light.

The next morning—

For the first time in years, the sky was silent.

The surviving people slowly emerged from the ruins.

Zarveth was gone.

The hellfire had vanished as well.

The war was over.

But…

No one ever found Kael.

At the center of the plaza, only one thing remained.

The sword Eldrath, embedded deep within the cracked stone.

And upon its hilt—

A small blue flame still burned quietly in the wind.

May you like

As though the final remnant of Kael’s soul…

Was still guarding this world.
