The Last Flame of Valdoria - PART 3 — THE FINAL BATTLE

PART 3 — THE FINAL BATTLE

Valdoria was dying.

Flames painted the entire night sky red. Ancient towers collapsed with thunderous explosions, massive blocks of stone crashing down and crushing soldiers and civilians alike as they fled in terror.

Everywhere, there was only—

Crying.

Screams for help.

And the roar of Zarveth.

The Dragon of the End Times stood atop the ruined city gate like a god of destruction. Its colossal wings stretched wide amidst the sea of flames, blotting out the moon itself.

Every breath it took carried death.

Kael stepped through the charred gates of Valdoria.

His iron boots crushed ash and shattered weapons beneath his feet.

A dying soldier lying beside the road weakly grabbed his cloak.

“Don’t… go…”

Blood spilled from the man’s mouth.

“It’s… not something a human can kill…”

Kael looked toward the central plaza engulfed in crimson fire.

“Even so…”

He tightened his grip on Eldrath.

“I still have to try.”

BOOM!!!

A devastating explosion erupted ahead.

Zarveth had just destroyed the last watchtower of Valdoria.

Dozens of soldiers were buried beneath the collapsing stone.

The dragon lifted its head toward the heavens and roared.

The sound shook the entire city.

Kael stepped into the center of the plaza.

For the first time…

A human dared to stand before Zarveth without fear.

The dragon slowly turned its head.

Its burning crimson eyes locked onto Kael.

Then it saw Eldrath.

And in that instant…

The smile vanished from the monster’s face.

“That sword…” Zarveth growled deeply.

Flames leaked from between its fangs.

“That is impossible…”

Kael drew his blade.

KRRRING—

Blue light erupted from Eldrath, piercing through the darkness.

“This ends now.”

Kael pointed the sword directly at the dragon.

“All of it.”

Zarveth descended.

The ground exploded beneath its impact.

Kael rolled aside instantly as the dragon’s massive claws ripped through the stone where he had stood moments before.

BOOM!!!

Fragments of rock blasted through the air.

The dragon opened its jaws and unleashed a torrent of fire.

Kael leapt through the inferno, his cloak scorching at the edges. He charged forward and slashed at Zarveth’s leg with all his strength.

SHHK!

Eldrath sliced through the black scales.

Molten-red blood burst forth like lava.

Zarveth roared in agony.

For the first time in centuries…

It had been wounded.

The surviving soldiers stood frozen in disbelief.

“He… made the dragon bleed…”

“That’s impossible…”

For the first time since the nightmare began—

Hope appeared.

But then—

BOOOOM!!!

Zarveth’s tail swept across the plaza.

Kael was hurled through the stone wall of a ruined building.

Blood ran from the corner of his mouth.

Every bone in his body felt shattered.

The dragon slowly approached him.

Each step made the earth tremble.

“You are different from the others…” Zarveth rumbled.

Its voice echoed like distant thunder.

“But your end will be the same.”

It raised a massive claw.

“Humanity was born to be destroyed.”

Kael tried to stand.

But he could barely feel his own body anymore.

And then—

A cry echoed from behind the rubble.

Kael turned his head.

A little girl was trapped beneath a burning slab of stone.

Her face was covered in ash and blood.

“Help… me…”

Kael froze.

In that moment…

He saw his little sister.

The same eyes.

The same terrified voice.

And the same sea of flames.

Zarveth opened its jaws.

Crimson fire began gathering within its throat.

In only seconds…

The entire plaza would vanish.

Kael looked down at Eldrath.

Then slowly closed his eyes.

At last…

He made his decision.

Kael drove the sword into the ground.

BOOOOM!!!

A massive wave of blue energy exploded across the plaza.

Violent winds spiraled outward.

Ancient symbols began appearing around his body.

Zarveth’s eyes widened.

For the first time—

The monster felt fear.

“NO!!!”

The dragon lunged forward.

But it was already too late.

Kael began chanting the forbidden incantation.

Blue light consumed his body.

His hair turned white.

Glowing cracks spread across his arms as though his body were disintegrating from within.

Eldrath had awakened.

Was finally unleashed.
