Dragon War: The Ballad of Ice and Fire - PART 4 — THE FINAL REQUIEM

PART 4 — THE FINAL REQUIEM
The skies of Eryndor were dying.
Gigantic black fractures spread across the heavens like wounds upon the world itself. Crimson hellfire merged with endless white blizzards, creating a chaos never meant to exist.
The oceans screamed.
Mountains collapsed.
The earth shattered apart in massive pieces, as though the entire world were coming undone.
And amidst that apocalypse—
The two Dragon Kings still faced one another in the sky.
Varkaros descended like a blazing crimson meteor.
The flames surrounding him burned so fiercely that even the clouds ignited as he passed through them.
“HUMANITY MUST PAY!!!”
His roar shook hundreds of mountains.
Across from him—
Seraphyne spread her colossal wings of ice.
The blizzard spiraling around her resembled a furious white ocean.
But this time…
There was something more than hatred in her eyes.
Because she could still see the child below.
A human child clutching a small dragon egg tightly against their chest amidst the fire and frost.
The child trembled.
Terrified.
Yet still used their own body to shield the very creature humanity had once hunted.
Seraphyne froze.
And in that moment…
She remembered the dragon hatchlings slain by human hands.
The shattered eggs upon the snow.
The final cries of her kin.
Yet this child…
Was risking their life to protect a dragon.
Perhaps…
Not all humans were the same.
“SERAPHYNE!!!”
Varkaros’s furious roar dragged her back to reality.
The Black Dragon had completely lost control.
The flames around his body darkened into a deep blood-red.
The air twisted from the unbearable heat.
Even the sky itself was burning.
“I WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING!”
He opened his jaws.
A colossal sphere of fire began to form.
Larger than any attack before it.
A crimson sun was born within the darkness.
Below—
The people of Eryndor looked upward in despair.
Within Solaris, Emperor Aurelius fell to his knees in fear for the very first time.
He watched the fractures in space consume his capital.
The Dragon Heart machines exploded throughout the city.
Flames spread across the golden empire.
One mage screamed:
“If that attack is unleashed…”
“The world will end!”
High above—
Seraphyne stared at the growing sphere of fire.
She understood.
There was no other choice.
If Varkaros released that attack…
Eryndor would vanish forever.
Slowly, Seraphyne closed her eyes.
The blizzard around her began to calm.
Then…
She looked at Varkaros one final time.
For the first time after thousands of years of war—
There was no hatred left in her gaze.
Only sorrow.
“Varkaros…”
Her voice echoed softly through the storm.
The Black Dragon hesitated for a brief moment.
“We have fought for far too long.”
The flames around Varkaros trembled violently.
“Do not speak to me of peace!” he roared.
“Humans slaughtered our kin!”
“I know…”
Seraphyne answered quietly.
“But if this continues…”
“We will have nothing left except hatred.”
A brief silence appeared amidst the apocalypse.
Then—
Varkaros roared madly and descended.
The gigantic crimson sphere exploded forward.
The heavens became hell itself.
But this time—
Seraphyne did not evade him.
She flew straight toward the Black Dragon.
“SERAPHYNE!!!”
Varkaros’s eyes widened.
But it was already too late.
Seraphyne embraced him in the sky.
Her colossal wings of ice wrapped completely around the Black Dragon’s body.
Ancient frost power began sealing his flames from within.
Varkaros roared in agony.
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!”
Seraphyne gently closed her eyes.
A single frozen tear fell through the heavens.
“Ending the war.”
And in that instant—
The full power of both Dragon Kings collided.
Fire and ice became one.
BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!
A colossal explosion of light swallowed the skies of Eryndor.
The black clouds vanished.
The oceans stopped screaming.
The fractures in reality shattered into fragments of light.
The world was consumed by endless white.
No one knew what happened afterward.
When the light faded…
The two Dragon Kings had vanished together.
No trace remained.
No final roar.
Only silence in the heavens after thousands of years of war.
Years later…
Eryndor began to heal.
Forests returned to the burned lands.
Frozen seas slowly thawed.
Dragonkind was never seen again.
But legends say—
On nights when volcanoes awaken and blizzards cover the skies…
Two dragon silhouettes can still be seen flying across the stars.
One red as fire.
One white as ice.
No longer fighting.
But soaring side by side through the night.
As if…
After everything—
May you like
The two Dragon Kings had finally found peace.
