Dragon War: The Ballad of Ice and Fire - PART 1 : THE DRAGON ACCORD

PART 1 — THE DRAGON ACCORD

Before humanity knew war…

Before the first kings built their empires…

The skies of Eryndor belonged to the Dragonkind.

In the south, colossal volcanoes burned endlessly for thousands of years. Rivers of lava flowed through cracked earth like veins of fire.

That was the domain of the Fire Dragons.

Gigantic creatures with crimson-black scales like burning coal, wings vast enough to eclipse the sun, and breaths capable of reducing entire cities to ash within seconds.

At their head stood Varkaros.

The Black Dragon of Hell.

Bearer of the primordial flame born at the creation of the world itself.

And in the north…

Lay the land of eternal blizzards.

Mountains of ice pierced the heavens while oceans remained frozen for millennia without thawing.

That realm belonged to the Ice Dragons.

Silver-white beings whose bodies seemed forged from crystal frost, every beat of their wings bringing blizzards and frozen death.

Ruling over them was Seraphyne.

The Ice Dragon Queen.

The one known as “The Breath of Winter.”

For thousands of years…

The two Dragon Clans waged endless war.

The Fire Dragons wished to burn the world away and forge a new age from its ashes.

The Ice Dragons sought to freeze everything, believing eternal balance could only exist in stillness.

Neither side would surrender.

Neither side would stop.

And so the war escalated.

The skies were torn apart by fire and ice.

The southern seas boiled beneath the unbearable heat of the Fire Dragons.

Meanwhile in the north, hundreds of ancient cities froze solid overnight.

The world slowly began to die.

Forests vanished.

The oceans turned black.

The sun disappeared from the sky.

Only war remained.

And then…

The final day arrived.

At the edge of the world—

The Black Sky Frontier.

A cursed wasteland between north and south.

Its sky was forever dark as an abyss.

No life existed there.

No light remained.

Only ash and the bones of ancient beings consumed by war.

There…

The two Dragon Kings met.

Varkaros descended with a catastrophic impact.

Lava erupted around his claws.

His burning crimson eyes, like twin infernal suns, stared into the darkness ahead.

Then—

THE BLIZZARD CAME.

The temperature across the wasteland dropped within seconds.

Seraphyne emerged from the white storm.

Her colossal wings of ice spread through the darkness.

Every step she took froze the earth beneath her.

The two Dragon Monarchs stood facing one another at the end of the world.

Neither spoke.

Yet the entire world trembled.

At last, Varkaros broke the silence.

“Have you come to surrender?”

His voice rumbled like erupting volcanoes.

Seraphyne gazed across the dead land below them.

A place that had once been forests.

Once been oceans.

Now reduced to ash.

Softly, she replied:

“Look at what we have done to this world.”

Varkaros growled low.

“The war is not over.”

“No…” Seraphyne met his gaze directly.
“If this continues…”

“The world itself will disappear.”

Silence stretched between them.

Only the howling wind answered in the darkness.

Then suddenly—

Varkaros attacked.

BOOOOM!!!

The earth exploded beneath his massive claws.

Seraphyne spread her wings and soared skyward instantly.

Crimson fire and white frost collided violently beneath the black heavens.

The explosion echoed for thousands of miles.

A single clash unleashed storms powerful enough to sweep across entire oceans.

The two Dragon Kings hurled themselves at each other like gods of the apocalypse.

The battle lasted seven days.

Seven days of hell.

On the first day—

The southern seas completely evaporated.

On the third day—

Half the north vanished beneath eternal blizzards.

On the fifth day—

The sky itself began to crack apart.

And on the seventh day…

Both Dragon Kings stood gravely wounded.

Varkaros had lost one of his horns.

Molten blood poured from the wound like lava.

Meanwhile, Seraphyne’s wings of ice were nearly shattered beyond repair.

Yet neither would fall.

Until—

A colossal explosion thundered from above.

CRAAAACK!!!

A gigantic black fracture split open across the sky.

An endless void was swallowing the world itself.

The two Dragon Kings froze.

For the first time…

They understood the truth.

If the war continued—

Nothing would survive.

Not the Fire Dragons.

Not the Ice Dragons.

But the entire world.

Seraphyne slowly descended to the ground.

She looked at Varkaros one final time.

“We must end this.”

Varkaros clenched his claws.

The flames surrounding his body slowly weakened.

After a very long silence…

He turned toward the spreading fracture in the heavens.

Then he roared in frustration.

“I hate this…”

Seraphyne closed her eyes softly.

“So do I.”

That night…

The Dragon Accord was forged.

The Black Sky Frontier became forbidden land.

No Dragon Clan was ever permitted to cross it again.

No one was allowed to reignite the war.

If the accord were broken…

The apocalypse would return.

May you like

And for thousands of years afterward— No one dared forget that warning.
