'Deport Her Home': Nancy Mace Escalates Feud After Federal Agents Search Ilhan Omar's Residence

South Carolina Republican Representative Nancy Mace has sharply escalated her long-running conflict with Representative Ilhan Omar, renewing demands that the Minnesota Democrat face denaturalization and deportation to Somalia following a federal law enforcement search at Omar’s residence.

The renewed push came after Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents executed a judicially authorized search warrant at Omar’s Washington-area home. Taking to social media shortly after the operation, Mace linked the law enforcement action to her previous efforts to obtain the congresswoman’s immigration files.

“I tried to subpoena Ilhan Omar and her brother-husband’s immigration records. Both parties blocked it in Oversight,” Mace wrote. “This morning HSI raided her home with a judicially authorized warrant, presumably over the same paperwork. If the fraud is proven, she should be denaturalized and deported home to Somalia.”

The confrontation represents the latest development in Mace’s multi-month campaign regarding Omar’s background. In January, during a House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing focused on alleged fraud in Minnesota, Mace formally requested subpoenas for immigration records concerning Omar and Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi, whom Mace publicly characterized as Omar's brother. Lawmakers from both parties voted to table the motion, blocking the issuance of the subpoenas.

Mace has leveled repeated accusations that Omar engaged in a fraudulent legal marriage with Hirsi in 2009 to assist his immigration status—an allegation Omar has consistently and firmly denied.

“Knowingly entering into a marriage to evade U.S. immigration law is a felony punishable by prison time, substantial fines, denaturalization, and deportation,” Mace asserted during the earlier committee push.

Tensions between the two lawmakers have simmered for over a year. The animosity flared publicly in September when Mace filed a resolution to formally censure Omar and remove her from committee assignments following remarks concerning conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. The full House narrowly voted 214–213 to table the measure, avoiding a formal sanction.

Following the federal search, Omar released a statement on social media calling the investigation politically motivated intimidation and insisting she “will not be silenced,” while maintaining that she has engaged in no wrongdoing. She has previously dismissed Mace’s rhetoric as partisan attacks lacking factual basis, pointing out that previous censure efforts failed to cite verified statements from her.

With federal authorities disclosing few details regarding the underlying warrant, the dispute highlights how bitter personal clashes on Capitol Hill continue to spill over into broader legal and immigration controversies.
